Figurella recommends: infusion of lime and ginger. Here is the recipe.

The good habit of evening tea is particularly appreciated in winter: it is pleasant to drink something warm before the day ends. But the infusion we suggest is also great in the middle of the afternoon, as a sweet break from the hectic pace of the day.

This infusion, despite its simplicity, is a real mine of antioxidants and vitamins thanks to the presence of ginger, with digestive properties, stimulants and detox, and lime, source of vitamin A and C and minerals. And in a super light key.

The use of ginger adds a pleasant spicy connotation and transforms the drink into a natural panacea to combat the characteristic “seasonal ailments”: colds, coughs and flu symptoms. It is also a pleasant energising tonic after physical activity.

The combination with lime – belonging to the same family as lemon, but more bitter and fragrant than its cousin – gives the infusion digestive and purifying properties.

Thanks to the high percentage of Vitamin C contained in the juice and pulp of the lime, the infusion also has a positive action on the immune defenses compromised by the winter rigors.

Ingredients for two cups:

  • a green tea bag or a herbal tea with ginger, liquorice, lemongrass, chamomile
  • 1 file
  • 3 or 4 slices of ginger
  • 1 lemongrass stem
  • a handful of fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)

Put the filter and the crushed lemongrass stem in a cast iron teapot. Add the mint leaves and sliced ginger. Cover with 400 ml of hot water (mineral water with a low fixed residue, heated to about 90 ° C, then without boiling it).

Leave to infuse for 7 minutes, then pour into the cups adding the freshly squeezed lime juice and honey, if you use it.

Perfect to drink after meals to aid digestion or after physical activity to replenish minerals and vitamins, it can also be consumed in the morning, as soon as you wake up, to accelerate metabolism.
